Our daily routine is typically as follows:
Our curriculum is based on the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) framework. This spans seven key areas of learning and development:
While following this framework, we adapt our activities based on children’s interests, strengths and areas for development – as well as to explore cultural events and celebrations.
We have a number of policies to ensure the safe and effective running of our pre-school. You can download the policies of key interest to parents/carers here:
We provide extensive support for children with additional needs, overseen by our manager. She is a Level 3 qualified SENCo and works closely with parents/carers to ensure they access any support needed, as well as makes referrals to services.
We have close relationships with services such as speech and language therapy, which come into the pre-school to work directly with the children and our staff.
Our staff have undertaken specific training on additional needs and disabilities, including courses on autism, anaphylaxis awareness and sensory processing. This ensures children receive bespoke care and education for their needs, based on the latest evidence.
Our pre-school is unique in having a ‘sensory shed’ – a dedicated space filled with sensory activities like light displays, sand toys, textures, etc. This is an ideal space for all children to play in but also serves as a calming, breakout space for neurodivergent children. We also have a number of toys and pieces of equipment to support children with additional needs, such as fidget toys, sensory equipment, visual aids, a breakout room, etc.

The snacks we offer vary, but examples include:
We adapt our snack offering to cater for allergies, as well as ask other parents/carers not to send in any allergens.
